TaylorMade RAC OS2 Mens

The Taylor Made RAC OS 2 irons win the prize for “irons which take longer to pronounce than to hit a ball with”. By my estimation, by the time you have said the name, you could have played a couple of rounds on a seven thousand yard course.

These irons have an oversized head which aims to provide control, reduce the vibration at impact and maximize forgiveness –the magic word in clubs. Golf just has to be a Catholic sport with this much forgiveness around.

These irons seem to divide opinion quite strongly. They are said to have a draw bias, which is not the best option if your natural tendency is towards this kind of shot. While there are plenty of satisfied users, there are also players who describe the clubs as “inconsistent” and lacking in sensitivity at impact with the ball; as well as this the steel is called “heavy” by some.

On the positive side, the RAC OS2 irons are described as good clubs for relative newcomers in that they are reasonably light, forgiving and easy to use. They are said to be particularly suitable for players who are not yet at the level where they are trying to shape the shot and instead are focused on hitting long and straight. This has also been turned into a basis for criticism by some players who feel that the clubs do not give them enough control or shot-shaping ability. This is why they are generally suggested for the less experienced player who is not yet concerned with such technicalities.

As with all clubs and equipment in general, it’s best to test something out before committing to buy it. With the target market for the RAC OS2 more defined than certain other clubs, it is easier to know if it will be worth your while trying these clubs out. If you’re not yet worried about the highest levels of control but want to get accuracy and length on your shots, it is certainly worth taking a look at these clubs.
